| Hey im thinking about getting a tattoo and i really don't know anything about them. So i was wondering does it hurt more in certain areas and where does it not hurt as bad. i don't do well with needles either. everytime i have had a shot i have passed out. is there any remedy to this problem in the tattoo world? |

well... there is a thread that has tackled the pain subject recently that you might check
this link might work:
http://www.everytattoo.com/tattooforum/viewtopic.php?t=370
as for the needle thing, you don't see it really, it's smaller than this: _
i wouldn't worry about it, think of it as an irritating permanant marker writing on you... lol _________________ Tragidy Strikes With Another D3adKl0wn |

Tattoos hurt different people in just about any places. It just depends on the person. I have told people my shoulder tattoos didn't hurt, and for some people that hurts the most. My leg tattoo hurt me the most. ( so far ) My ankle band, well it was a new feeling. (for sure) I remember telling the tattoo artist when he was working on the back part of my ankle band, wow that is a new feeling, find another spot for a while. lol... Pain is just different for everyone, it you pass out everytime you see a needle then that is great, cause when you wake up your tatt will be done. Do something to keep your mind off of the pain. (if there is any) listen to music in your ears, or talk to the tattoo artist. That is my thing. They tattoo me a new tattoo, and they ask me questions about my other ones.( I hate needles BTW) Look at it this way, you hate needles but love tattoos, so if you really want a tattoo in a bad way. You will find a way to overcome your fear of needles, and sit down in the chair and walk out with your new tattoo.

| I think the pain is also determined by how much you really want a tattoo. If your just getting a tattoo to "fit in and be cool like all your friends" then it will prolly suck for you. |

it hurts differently in various areas and to varying degrees for different people. to me it seems like your getting stung by a bee for however long your session lasts. |

I'll tell you one thing...
I WAS DEAD SCARED!!! to tell you the truth it took me 14 years to finally get one done. I was really scared of the pain, and the needles... and I thought it would hurt even after.
I got one done on my neck. (right side)
I talked to the guys at the studio... they were very honest about the pain factor. And to my biggest suprise... it didn't hurt (that much)
If somebody one day say it doesn't hurt at all, that's BS. Of course it's going to hurt. But at least mine... it was fine. Nothing bad.
when he was coloring then it hurt a little more, but again... nothing a couldn't take.
Now I have an appointment for next thursday to get my second one done on the right side of my lower back (I have this thing with right side, hihi)
and people are telling me that it hurts too much on the lower back. I'M SO FREAKING SCARED!!
But well... I'll take my pillow with me... that's like... my security blanket!!! LOL You can laugh as much as you want... as long I feel comfortable... I can take the pain! LOL |

when i got my first one i was a bit nervous at first. once my artist started i started to relax more and i grew to like the pain. i wasnt scared of needles or pain i just didnt know exactly how much it would hurt. and it depends on where you get your tattoo also. the one i have on my forearm was my first and wasnt too bad. the one on my neck/back hurt a lot more than on my arm cuz it is a more sensitive area and its right on my spine. but its really not that bad after a while. you get used to it. now i personally can't wait till i get another one because i love the pain. _________________ Two tattoos and counting....... |

I'd also like to recommend a solid two weeks of lurking before posting. |
