Look, Man....if you don't have the simple basic elementary understanding of where to go to get a license, HOW IN THE BLOODY HELL could you have any understanding of cross contamination and how to prevent it, any clue about art, any clue about the equipment, or any clue about how to run a business?
You should have tried one of them there "apprintist."
You might have figured out how to get a "lisence"....and FAR more. Then you could start "tating" for real! |

That's what everyone who needs an apprenticeship says. I'm not convinced, though. |

Not concerned with your work. Post a picture of your work area, and explain the things you do to prevent cross contamination, and why. Post a pic of your autoclave with a note in the picture so we will know it is yours.

Why? You can buy a kit, and carve on people with no formal training, so why can't I sell licenses?
And, by the way...it's L I C E N S E. |

I agree with Bad Wolf...post pics of you work area, and let us know what you know about the prevention of cross contamination. Not pics of your work yet.
Why is it that everyone is too good, or it's "below them" to have learned the proper way of tattooing, from someone who knows what there doing, before they go out and do the trial and error thing. You have no idea of how to obtain a license, but you want to start "in the near future". Just because someones dad, and their grandpa painted cars for a living, doesn't just make them an AFC certified master machanic. I think being a doctor is in my blood too, but don't think they will just let me in the local hospital to preform surgery, or even attend to the E.R. And if you think the doctor aspect it to far fetched.....remember, we ARE preforming minor surgery when we tattoo.
If you want awnsers to your questions, you cannot be so upset when someone doesn't give you the ones you wanted to hear. |

Damn right it is!!! I'll get a new video sent to me, and see if I can find some help on the net, then i'll make my way over there. Wouldn't want you getting screwed on price from a professional. I mean, come on, what could they possable know that I cannot learn from trial and error.
Just let me know when I can be of service to you d3adklOwn! |

it blows my mind how many people don't "believe" in learning by being an apprentist. Before I got my apprenticeship, I read up on tattooing and the "how to" stuff that's posted on the internet and in books. To be honest, around 80% of the info seemed like it was writing in a language foreign to my own. Only after I started my apprenticeship did reading some of that stuff make any sense (and, mind you, a pile of it was entirely the opposite of what my mentor has told me...gee, should i listen to the nameless faceless writer of "how to" info or a good guy who's been tattooing for 16 years and has had run his own shop for a decade? Gee, that's a tough choice ). A book can't sit over your shoulder when you do your first tattoo and give advice, a book can't give you a pep talk and quiz you to make sure you're ready before your first big piece, and a book certainly isn't going to say "sit over there and watch me tattoo people. take notes and we can talk about any questions you have after the client leaves". These things simply just don't happen when you're self-taught. There's so much more to this than "stabbing people and making pretty lines". I've seen scratchers who say that they are solid and have been doing it for years, but can't make a sharp line and can't make a solid area of color. It's fucking ridiculous. _________________ Just a small guy trying to get by... |

I guess he can't find his camera cord...or maybe it's the autoclave he can't find...or the clean work area...
I'm starting to get worried about him. He seems to have suddenly disappeared.
Shall we get together a search party? |

But if we put one together for him, where does it stop? Then it sounds like we care that scratchers are turning up missing. |

| good looking out for me guys, ha...ive been around..sorry to say pops had a heart atack last friday...and well ive been in and out of the hosp. any way..the ways of becoming an apprintist are great..never said id like to be one..just not a job..sitting side to observe the whole process would be nice and great learning. i just think siting around waitn for my next task to do for the full time tatoist would be nuts. in my opinion. but back to the sanitation issue..i prep ever area accordinly and i only use sanatizd surg. single use only..i dont like the idea of doin them urself..so one needle per statious..line..shade, fillin..as well as single use inks..doin ur out line and start with the less fillin parts then to the more detailed and ink packin last..ive done a few..one.......on myself..of a devil chick..from wrist to elbow on left forearm..and a skull style jester in the inner forearm..same arm..i added in a black moon with shaded clouds around ..not likeing it to much..may become a 8ball..but no issues conserning infections and cross cont. another is for friends..dragon fly on back..low below the neck line..and another is a butter fly..on top of foot..all doin well in healin process........id love to sit in or something of the sort od watchin..begining to end...on real detailed work..videos are out there..but costly..haller back..soon. |
