I'll be nice and justify that with a response. How painful my response is will depend on how quickly you see the light.

Telling you to seek a mentor is the only responsible thing I CAN tell you. The internet is not a place to train people. Dispite what you said, you do not get better at tattooing by trying to learn on your own with human gunea pigs...you simply infect and scar more human guinea pigs.
There is a right and a wrong way to do anything, and with tattooing, the time honored tradition of apprenticeship is the only way any professional would see fit. Once you have done that, you are automatically involved in a network of professionals who can help you with any new techniques or things you may want to know in the future. I am amongst a community that I can go to. You, on the other hand, have not become a part of that community, yet. You EARN your place in it...you have no automatic membership.
The harm YOU chose to create, is not MY responsibility. It's YOURS.
If you wanted to become a surgeon, would it be the responsibility of a surgeon to teach you medicine in an internet forum so you didn't hurt anyone? No. It would be YOUR responsibility to seek training, pay for it, and if you could not, and you still decided to attempt surgery, THAT WOULD BE YOUR DECISION, THEREFORE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. The medical community would not be accountable for your actions.
Not everyone was meant to be a surgeon or a tattoo artist, just because it's the fad du jour. Lack of talent, economic status, and many other factors should keep some people from doing it, and the apprenticeship method weeds out the people who should not be involved. It's tough, and it seperates the men from the boys. Unfortunately, some of these untalented individuals will still try to learn on their own, when they cannot find a mentor, and that is THEIR choice, and THEIR responsibility. Since they were not trained, they ARE NOT tattoo artists. They are simply people with tattoo equipment (usually junk tattoo equipment, at that) and should not be associated with, nor be accountable for by, the professional tattoo community, anymore than an untrained person with a scalpel should be associated with or accountable for by, the medical community.

If this makes sense, and satisfies you, you should stop reading now, and just accept that as my answer, and go about your search for a mentor, or another profession...whichever is applicable.

If, on the other hand, you still think what you do is MY responsibility, and can't understand my position on this matter, read on...But be warned, I don't sugar coat anything from here on out.

I did not become a tattoo artist and invest 20 years of my life in this profession, eating instant noodles and sleeping on people's couches in unfamiliar cities until I was successful, just to train every brainless twit who wanted to get invited to all the really cool parties ...and do it all from the cozy comfort of their computer chair.
Even if I wanted to, I could not, nor can anyone, train you in a forum. So, you might have to get off your ass and start knocking on some doors like the rest of us did, Sparky, instead of crying that ~I~ am short changing you. If you run out of places to knock, go to another city...another state, and start knocking again. If you don't love it that much, why the fuck should IT love you?
And if you knock for the rest of your life, and no one is interested, you may want to consider that maybe there is a reason no one is interested. Perhaps it just isn't for you. I have given up many things I wasn't good at.

The fact you even wrote such a piece of garbage and needed to read this far, is living proof that you most likely have no RIGHT to EVER tattoo another human being. I can't believe you opened up a studio with this little understanding of the business and the inherant dangers involved...you truely ARE the problem! You should toss your junk in the garbage where it belongs and stick with flipping burgers, or whatever you do, because you don't have the intelligence or resourcefulness or integrity to tattoo, and be trusted with someone else's safety. Anyone who would blame ME for their actions, and their decisions, and their mistakes due to tattooing someone without training WILL NEVER BE ANYTHING MORE THAN A DANGEROUS SCRATCHER, no matter how long they try.
It wouldn't matter if I were to TOTALLY kiss your ass, and jump on a plane and COME TO YOUR FUCKIN' HOUSE AND ~PAY YOU~ FOR THE PRIVELEDGE OF TEACHING YOU...you aren't capable of learning, if you have an attitude like that.
Fuck you, you filthy piece of shit!
I wish there was an emoticon for "spitting at you"

Now...
If you read this far, I hope you got it by now.
The attitude you have displayed will generate this sort of reaction in any trained professional who worked hard to get where they are... which is perhaps, why no one has been willing to help you. So, try not to judge me too harshly for reacting that way. I payed my dues, and feel you should, too.
What I got out of tattooing is directly proportional to what I put INTO tattooing. I busted my ass, and I got a lot out of it. What makes you think you can put nothing into it, and only take?

Make any sense yet?
If so, adjust your attitude accordingly, and again, good luck in finding a mentor.
If not, you simply refuse to see the truth, and are hopeless.

You know what the real shame is Badwolf, is there's no freakin way that guy read all of that, and if he did, you know there was ZERO comprehension.

My problem is... when did becoming a tattoo artist equal the "any idiot can do it" job.

Does Shop-rite allow you to come in and just start bagging groceries? Even they will make you train first. Can you just read a law book, and start defending people in court..... hey maybe, but will you be any good? If you want to be a plumber, can you just go and start? I guess so, but there's a reason why you USUALLY have to go through the apprenticeship program.

The point is, you have to LEARN habits, routines, information, what not to do under what circumstances. That shit comes throgh experience. IT IS A BIG DEAL. Maybe the grocery bagger screws up and breaks Mrs. Johnson's eggs. But the lawyer screws up, and a human being get's life in prison. The tattoo artist screws up, a HUMANS LIFE is put at risk. So i can maybe understand why the defensiveness when it comes to giving out information.

Additionally.... go ahead and call up Colonel Sanders and ask for his secret recipe, see how far you get.

Oh ok Good!

Get an Apprenticeship, bust your ass for little to NO PAY for a few years, then you'll know why no one wants to give out info for free.

They earned it.

I can't wait 'til I get invited to all the cool parties. Until then, I'll just have to settle for cheep beer and ugly whores.

WHY GOD? WHY ARE YOU PUNISHING ME THIS WAY?!

what do you mean by making a killing, you mean earning a fortune,
well i have a studio in the u.k with a good reputation excellent service ive got clients ive seen 10 years ago coming back for there 20th tattoo so on
and so on
but im no where near being a millionare, it is a myth that a tattoo artist
earns a great deal , i will say it can be a very comfortable living but not all the time
saying that the cost of living in the u.k has risen out of all proportion too
but dont expect to get very rich.
i love what i do and that is the most important thing.......
