Hey now guys, i havent been on this forum long but i understand the whole "scratcher" thing, but u guys cant label him one.
i understand were he comes from, when you have an artistic back ground no ones work satisfies you then your own.
Hes not doing it to learn to do it to others, ive though of it myself but know its foolish for me to try.... but surely you cant all just jump one the bloke for it.
I guess you can see it no different then the maori's or samoans doing it the traditional way themselves, with a bone chisel or a sharpaned bambo shoot. Its just our custom in the western world to do it this way.
Dont get me wrong im against tools that do it to tattoo others and so forth which in my opinion are real scratchers.
But hey Jc, im guessing maby find a friend that is a tattoo artist to watch over you if you really want to do it.
Its dangerous yes i dont back it but if u must no one can stop you i suppose.
But im your chances of doing a decent job if it is real slim, most chances it will look real bad myfriend...
take my advice im not going to try it till im trained properly how to do it. |

It's dangerous and even the worse tattoo artist that actually has learned the art the correct way WILL give a better tattoo then this person will to himself.
Drawing/painting on paper/canvas isn't like skin, NOTHING IS!
SO, I stand by my previous post and highly recommending him going to a professional; THEY WILL do a better, safer, job... _________________

Thanks for your comments Mishel... and yes, I won't do it without the proper trainning... time ago, I saw a couple "home made" tattoos..and yes, they were not good at all.. thats why I want to learn and train first..
Your comment is useful, thanks.. andy other suggestion?
And yes, the western way is a way of tattooing, but not the only one, of course...some literature that you could recommend me? apart from the common "online" content? |

Here is some advice that will help you a great deal:
You cannot learn tattooing from books.
You cannot learn tattooing from videos.
You cannot learn tattooing from the internet.
There is no shortcut. |

| From your "other" post, it doesn't appear you quite understand. Unless you have an apprenticeship with a certified legal tattoo artist, you are fucking up. It doesn't matter if "western" way isn't the only one--any one of these will spread disease if you don't know what you're doing. There is not literature to recommend. Get an apprenticeship or get a professional to do your tattoo. |

alright, guy, get out your needle, thread, and indian ink. I'm sure that the piece will look AMAZING *sarcasm mode turned off*
Why not DRAW up a custom design (since, you know, you are an "art related professional") and take it to a certified and qualified professional tattoo artist? It's done all the time, and the final tattoo itself, I'm 100% positive, will look infinitely better then you're fuzzy, blurry, dot-y, hand-poked debacle. |

This is just silly .. a silly idea by a silly person which will end up as a silly lookin tattoo. As long as he isn't infecting the world, if he wants to let Hep C rain down upon him- well hell, go for it! <3
Hep C and blood poisoning to all and to all a good night!! |

The Original Poster has a great idea --- he/she/it has transcended the shackles of conformity that bind the rest of this forum...
Everyone here is a Safety First Diet-Lite Wuss --- pay them no heed and tattoo yourself --- you can do amazing work using an E-Z Bake Oven to melt the crayons that come with the kid's menu at Ruby Tuesday's...
Good luck and post pics !!! |

Dude! If you wanna draw on yourself without taking the chance of fucking up your skin, try henna ink. I know.....there's nothing like bonified ink and I know the henna ink sounds "girlish". But seriously, it's better than risking infection and a fucked up tattoo. _________________ Bemused Oddity
