I have been asked to define the diffrence between new and old skool and I'm having some problems. Has any one got or heard a short but good answer to the question. Also are there any good books on new skool design. Thanks for your time. _________________ \\\"Make everything as simple as possible,

Old school tattoos are all over shops around the US/world. Also known as Traditional
New Skool have BIG bold outlines and/or NO outlines at all. Very cool stuff, I love New skool pieces and plan on getting more. _________________

I am sure that will be my next wish. Once it starts you want it done. I just want my design finalized so I have an idea of what it will look like. the artist is still in the drawing phase. I acatually have two deposits out there so it is knid of like dualling TAs! |

| All or Nothing is on my list of shops to check out for my next piece. Your use of them puts them ahead. |

when i hear the term "new skool", i think of the 90's, tattoos with BIG thick outlines, objects that were bent and scewed in strange proportions, and everything looking "chromed" or "shiney". A complete lack of black shading, and an over-abundance of bright, bold colors (and multiple shades of them). Goofy subject matter also comes to mind (toasters, pop tarts, bowling pins, ect.). The whole movement seemed a little kitchy, in hindsight.
The stuff in the "new school" images that tattude posted (along side work that guys Like Tony Ciavarrow are doing) are BEYOND "new school" to me. They're takening the best elements of both schools, and adding an overly illustrative quality to the mix. To me, THAT style is AMAZING, and seems to be a contender for "the next big thing" |

Totally agree...I also see the over sized eyes, or other prominent body parts that are over actuated.
I do really like the newer stuff from Tony, Gunner, Chris Blitson etc... _________________
