Had my First tattoo today. Arrive at the studio about 20 minutes early, and the artist was ready. I had an orange rose with the words Punkin Baby. It's a name I have called her for 28 yrs of marriage. Are anniversary was Aug. 11th. So you could say my first was an anniversary present. I have uploaded a picture and it is being reviewed. I uploaded it to my profile but not sure how to get it there, unless after the review it is put there. The pain was not bad at all, It was done on my upper arm.
My daughter saw mine,and has already made an appointment to get one herself.
I said I would only do this one, but would not mind having another one done.

| Congrats man, like most of the people said it can be really addictive. I myself just got my first piece done on my ribs and am looking forward to adding on. Good luck and take care of it. |

| Glad to see another old dude on this board. Like you I waited until after 50 to get my first. Your work looks solid and I bet you're already looking for a design for your second. (Got my 2nd about 6 weeks after the 1st - I'll post pics when it heals up.) Have to say your balls hang a little lower than mine though, gonna skip the piercing part. |

This hasn't been covered here in a long time...we went over this a few times long ago, and I'll bring it up now, just to let the new people in on it.
Please do not call tattooing an ADDICTION.
I know it sounds entertaining, but the more we use the proper terminology, the better we will be thought of.
Addiction implies a weakness...and people who are serious about tattooing are anything BUT weak.
It is a passion...an all consuming DESIRE. A lifestyle. A means to an end. But an addiction it is not.
Congrats on the tattoo...it looks mighty solid. Congrats, also, on the 28 years. I tilt my Molson (yuk) in your honor. |

Congrats on the tat, and on the 28 years of marraige! My husband got a tattoo with my name on it after a month of dating... of course, my reaction was "are you INSANE???" - LOL... but here we are 14 years later...
At 5 years we got matching bands on our ring finger... not in the wedding ring spot though (I heard that was bad luck)... it's between the 1st and 2nd knuckle.
We've got a few "matching" or interlocking ones... we've had fun with them over the years.
I hope we make it strong to 28 like you guys... It's a positive thing to aspire to.

my parents will be married 30 years next march (2008 ) and im hoping to convince my mom to get a tat  .
funny part is , they met at a party where my dad was tripping on acid and drunk off his ass..
they dated for 2 weeks before he proposed.. and its 30 years |

Hey thanks for all the encouragement. I enjoy my first. My daughter has already been helping me plan my second one.
As for being marry for 28 yrs. We have had some ups and downs, a few spats, but all in all it has been a wonderful 28 yrs. I hope to have at lest another 28 yrs.
I should not have said it was addictive, what my artist told I would probally not get just one I would be looking to have more done I said no just one. He was right I can't wait to get my next one.
I think a design with my two daughters names. |
