It is possible. I have seen about a 2% rate of success. That's if you are talking about a credible valid shop, and an artistic person with the intelligence to seek out the proper info, and the brains to know how to use the info..and that's not very common. The other 98% could survive indefinately in a hole in the wall, because many people will be impressed with horrible, filthy work. But, they won't ever be able to make a decent living at it, or have any respect whatsoever from peers, and will be the butt of many jokes. One of the absolute worst artists I know keeps telling me that his customers think he is great...what he doesn't realize is that it has nothing to do with him being talented...it has only to do with his customers stupidity and lack of taste. He is an artist in the sense that scarring and disfiguring people could loosly be called an Artform...but a tattoo artist? Not in a million years. But luckily for him, stupidity and lack of taste is something that is in abundance in the world.

Example: The guy did this, and keeps saying the customer loves it, therefore (in his thinking) he must be a good tattooist. But I beg to differ...he is a horrible hack, and has nothing in common with a tattooist. The blotch you see in the picture is no more a tattoo than if I spit thumbtacks and ink at you and managed to leave a mark.
It is his customer's lack of taste and abundance of stupidity that kept him from shooting this "tattoo artist" in the face with a shotgun.
Would you be proud of that MESS??!

By The Way...He claims to have been tattooing for 2 1/2 years.
My very first tattoo was LIGHTYEARS better than that mess. And if I ever do a tattoo that even comes close to being that bad, I'll shoot myself in the face with a shotgun, and save the customer the trouble. |

| Thanks for the reply, I was asking because I am the two percent you speak of. Do you have any tattoo pictures posted? If so, please tell me how I can find them. I am new to this site and still learning the ins and outs. Thanks for any future replies. |

The 'portrait' is a German composer, Gustov Mauller (sp?) and is from the cover of a book. It is pen and ink quality, not portrait quality, which is identicle to the book cover, and is what the guy wanted.
Those are the only pics I have in my computer right now. The person doing the website has all my pics.
The Eagle is just some old Dave Rubin flash, and the German shep was from a pic the guy brought in of his dog, which died. They were all done in the mid to late 90s. |
