hey everyone im a noob here. well i live in IL i'm 16 and want my first tattoo i been researching for years and i know what i want and im sure about it. my mom said i can do it but i dont know what the legal age is here. i know they just lowered the age back to 18 without consent but i don't know how you need to be with consent if you can do it.

| i am 17 i got my fist tattoo a month before i turned 15 i have 5 tattoos my boyfriend's brother was a proffesional tattoo and body piercer and so i went over to my boyfriend's house and his brother gave me 1 tattoo and my boyfriend got my name tattooed on him so that was my first tattoo and my second one and third one were on my 15 birthday |

Heh, you were aiding and abetting! I didn't notice the dates at first, could have used the heads up.  I had to go back and edit too.
We need a public service announcement - if it seems to good to be true - like a tattoo for 15 year olds, at a friends house.... it probably is.

Well, as I've stated in other posts, a properly trained professional tattooist can tattoo safely anywhere, including a house or a hotel room. But I really doubt from the above scenario that the artist was in fact a properly trained professional. Have fun kids.
