I'm looking for a very talented female tattoo artist in Florida or a neighboring state (preferably Florida, though) to do a fairly big tattoo. The design is a person, so if anyone knows of someone that is especially good with people/faces that would help. Thanks

Why does it have to be a female? Why not look for the best artist you can find, period, whether it is a male or a female?

I saw that one coming. I didn't include it in the OP because I knew I'd get some flak for it. This tattoo is going to be on my ribs/stomach, and I got my last tattoo there (by a male), and it was pretty painful. I have heard that female artists have a lighter touch with the tattoo machine. let the flaming begin

Well, from experience I can tell you that is SOOO not true. I hadn't heard that before, either. Anyway, someone else can probably give you names. Have you looked at the list of artists someone on this site put together? It is the very first sticky in this forum.

I did, and I didn't find any female artists in my area

well I guess that makes things a lot easier. I'd still like someone to recommend me a great female artist in FL/the southeast, though

gender has nothing to do with "touch".
a machine is a machine. there is a setup to it. deal with it.
heavy hand/light hand...it's all BS.

Using Boolean search terms may shorten the amount of time you spend looking, that way you have time to "search threads" AND (drink beer OR smoke). |

I had my first tattoo done by Nina Rose in Palm Beach Florida a few years ago when I was visiting the States. She does the most awesome portraits - thats why I chose her to do my first. Not sure if you can find her.

| If I was getting as hand job I'd definitely want it started by a female, nice and soft and slow. But I'd want it finished by a male, heavy handed and rough. I'd finish it myself, guys so stop PMing me. |
