ive got an odd sleeve on my right arm. the artist went ahead and did small stars as filler, but i honestly think it looks crappy, i like small stars and all, but theyre just big and far spaced. any ideas?

did he not tell you he was doing it? did not notice him doing it? why don't you try asking him what he was thinking while doing it.. it's obviously not finished, what does he have planned for the background?

well no i was talking and stuff with friends, not paying too much attention, then when i looked over *she* was doing the stars. i was like "wtf?" thats what she had as filler in the flash. i calmed down and everyone was like, "dude it looks awesome" and i let her continue, but its like, i look at it now, and i just think bugs.fall_child138 wrote:did he not tell you he was doing it? did not notice him doing it? why don't you try asking him what he was thinking while doing it.. it's obviously not finished, what does he have planned for the background?
yeah no shes gunna color it when i get more $$$
I think that's actually a pretty cool idea. Bigger stars would help to fill in the big gaps you have.wileypdf wrote:do inverted shadow stars and or the something intricate that is softened by only using grey wash
And/or you could also do some grey wash clouds, maybe some kinda smokey looking ones...
By the way, I like the pieces you have so far.

That's exactly my thought. I really like sleeves with small, simple stars and dots...but only when there isn't too much space to fill in. With this particular piece, there's a decent amount of empty space that needs to be filled, so I think something with more dimension and what not, like clouds or whatever, would really work well.Jadesauce wrote:I like the idea of bigger stars with more dimension and shading.
I'd cover up those little asterisks*****. Get real stars, blk/gry background. leave a space and do negative stars (skin showing through as stars.) It could have been done 10000% better. That's just a lazy attempt at filler if you ask me, and if you didn't I don't care
oh and don't forget the polka dots..

i usually agree with this bastard, but i got to disagree now.beuneek wrote:I'd cover up those little asterisks*****. it's all traditional-neo traditional work so far. why use gay ass negative space ???? dots and tiny "asterisks" were use as a filler back then. why not now and stick with the theme ?!
