I had an orbital piercing (through the top of the ear cartilage) done about two and a half months ago. I'm healing it with a single ring, which fits nicely in the piercing, though it had to be changed out several weeks after it was done.

The holes themselves seem to be healing nicely. I do use H2Ocean, as well as sea salt and tea tree oil soaks regularly.

However, attached to one of the holes is something like a fluid filled blister. It's small and has been there at least a month. It's neither getting bigger nor smaller. The area is not hot or puffy, but it is painful when touched or knocked.

This is not a hypertrophic scar. I've had those on other piercings. It's something different and I'm not quite sure what it is or how to help it heal.

Any help would be much appreciated.

If it looks like a blister, it likely is a granuloma and are pretty common with cartilage piercings. Keep up with the spray, hot soaks, and keeping it clean. I've had my bump for about a month now and it still looks like it's not going away, but it will eventually. The one I had on the inside of my nose I've had since I got the piercing back in Feb, and it just fell off the other day, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

If it ever changes color to where it's the same color as your skin or pink, then I'd go see the person who pierced you to see what to do next, but if it does look like a fluid filled blister, it just seems exactly like "the bump" to me.

As a note, do not pop it. It will drain on it's own gradually. Popping it may add more trauma to the area and risk a real scar.

ive had these bumps before and all you have to do is apply emu oil to them and they heal up nicely in about two weeks. you can get the stuff at the place u got pierced or online if they don't have it. the oil is also something useful to have around for all sorts of other purposes so i suggest everyone buy some
