So, at one point or another I'm sure that a fair number of us have gotten the beloved question, "But what are you going to think in ten years?!? What are you going to think when you look in the mirror at age FIFTY?!?"
It's kind of a puzzling question for me. When I am fifty, I will be fifty years old with tattoos. What's the big deal? Why do we have this societal stigma that older people shouldn't have any form of body modification because it looks "silly" or "like they're trying to hold on to their lost youth." Of course tattoos age with your skin, but why do people think that that suddenly makes the overall effect ugly or something? There is so much that happens to your body as it gets old. The tattoos just go along with that. We no longer look the way we did at age twenty regardless of what we choose to do with our bodies, so why this idea that tattoos are out of place on older people? |

Some people act as though a tattoo is going to change who I am as a person, which is ridiculous.
As for the naysayers who will just look at your tattoo(s), shake their heads, and tell you that you will regret it later on, they ought to just mind their own business. _________________ I'm killing time until time kills me. |

Yeah, really...does grandma really care if her shoulder tat is on her elbow and her boobs are perky?! I doubt it. I think she's more worried about incontinence. |

That's what I always thought about the matter. When I'm that old I'll have so many other things to worry about, am I really going to care about some ink? |

People who ask that question think "What are tattoos going to look like when you're flabby and wrinkly?" They say it like being flabby and wrinkly is good by itself. |

Well considering I didn't start getting tattooed 'til i was 39, I'm not too worried about what they'll look like at 50. _________________ "The creation of mankind was the act of an egomaniac, plain and simple"

I do think that old people care about what their tattoos look like. No matter how old you are, you still want to look nice.
And for me the deal is that as I get "older" I find myself being more and more laidback- Im like Tom Waits. When I was 20 it was weird that I felt older than most 30year old people I met. Even some 40year olds.
But about tattoos. As I see myself getting more stable in mind, I am at the same time more drawn to traditional japanese tattooing. And im pretty much certain that majority of my body will be covered in that style. Fullbody suit isnt out of the question. And then I can get all those little weird tattoos on my feet etc. But I do view traditonal japanese as more "mature". Or I think it just fits my mentality better, the humble and respectful outlook, so I think thats is the reason it seems "mature". Because it is easy to picture myself in 60and with japanese style tattooing. Not the case with something like biomech etc. _________________ www.myspace.com/pyrrhusdarwincastello

My mother was ooked out by my recent tattoo. She said "I'm sorry but whenever I see a tattoo I still think dirty icky person". To which I replied "well then, maybe I'll change you perception over time". _________________ Scientists have known that what grows on a gamer's face is different from that of a man's.
