Hey all,
I am a 16 year old guy. I live in NYC and have considered getting a tattoo for the past few years. My parents are totally cool with it as long as it is in a place that can be concealed by clothing.
I have a few questions. Number one is; I know I cannot get a tattoo in NY, even with parental consent- which state should I go to to get a tattoo. And which tattoo artists are the prominent ones there? I am not stingy with money and would like my first tattoo to look great.
I would like the tattoo to be placed like it is on this guy:
However, just on the pectorial muscle, not on the shoulder. I was thinking of a simple tribal design spreading all across my pec.
Also, if I ever need to get it off for some reason, how advanced is laser removal? Will it be gone completely without a trace or will it leave some scarring.
Thanks for answering my questions,

| If you are already asking about removal of a tattoo before you even get one, you may want to consider waiting... for a long time. |

| Guys, please do understand. I want to cover all the bases. I want to know the full story before making a final commitment. I am not planning on removing the tat, I just want to know all sides of the story. |

that's kind of like asking how much a divorce will cost before getting married
it's good to be prepared and have some thought put into it, but why not think longer and harder about what you what you really want instead of worrying about how you'd remove it [when you realize that you 'jumped the gun' and regret the decision] _________________

I have included the OP for those of you who like that... in case it would be edited or deleted for some reason.
Well, your "loads of questions" pretty much amounted to 3. One was where you could get a tattoo done at the age of 16. The other 2 were around getting it removed. To me, this doesn't look like you put much thought into it. There is no hurry. Make sure you are committed before doing it. You've got your whole life ahead of you. |
