Saw this last night with my boyfriend and his roommate, it was pretty good for the action sequences and what not, but i wasnt too crazy about the true plot of the movie, my boyfriend said it was a bit confusing and there were times where you almost felt as if you were going to lose the plot. His roommates comment was that it was a bit odd but humorous and therefore enjoyable.
all in all a decent movie but no where as good as the hype made it out to be IMO.

I heard it wasn't very good.

I opted for Wanted, instead, and was actually pleasantly surprised. one of those weird shitty but good movies. Yeah, I hijacked your thread. Sue me.

As a comic geek, I'm curious about both. More than likely, though, I'll wait for their DVD releases. Wanted just looks a little too removed from the original source material and Hancock looks like it could go either way with me.

The concept itself rides a fine line (super-hero in a real world situation) with me as it is. I'm sure that it will have a few laughs and all, but, to me, I'd prefer to see a dramatic take on the subject (a la Kurt Busiek's amazing "Marvels" mini-series).

I'll probably wait to see Hancock on rental, since as comic movies go, Dark Knight is top priority at the moment...

I'm always amused by Will Smith's more comedic/action roles, so I'll probably "enjoy" it(IE:If it keeps my attention for longer than a half hour, it's a good movie to me...unless the ending totally sucks...like Wickerman. >.<).

My family went to see Wanted. My legs hurt too much from seeing Wall-E the day before, so I opted out of sitting for another two hours at the theater. They enjoyed it(my younger brother wouldn't shut up about it...but even though he's in school as a film major, his overall opinion on good and bad movies sometimes sucks)...
I've heard it's NOTHING like the graphic novel it's based on, though...

The original "Wickerman" or the shit-house Nick Cage remake?

The original is one of my favorite films of all time. Great mood, great atmosphere and an engaging story. The pace is a bit slow at points, but, other than that, no complaints.

The remake? complete garge. The only people I've talked to that enjoyed it were a few hardcore fem-nazis that came into the shop one day. Of course, they liked it for obvious reasons to anyone that's seen the movie. Rolling Eyes

The remake. It was one of those times where it was the only free On Demand movie I hadn't seen yet, so we sat and watched it with nothing better to do.

By my standards, it was an okay movie. I wasn't bored watching it, so that's always a good thing...but then it ended...just...ended...that was it. And while I know the original probably ends the same way(thinking about looking into watching that one to see if it helps my opinion of the story), the remake just left you with one of those "Buh? WTF just happened?" feelings that came out of nowhere. I'm all for those mysterious, no closure endings...but you gotta do it right or else I'm gonna be pissed off.

And that says something, because when it comes to movies, I'm damn well easy to please.

Yeah, the first act kinda stays true to it, though. I think regardless, it's worth noting that Millar approved the changes. Plus it has the dude from Night Watch in it, which is also kinda awesome.

thought it was a bit crap... didnt have enough of a plot and could have been really funny - just thought it was very flat - glad it was only 90 minutes. if they had dragged it on any longer it would have been terrible.

Yeah i didnt really like this one either, felt like the boyfriend and i should have waited to just rent it instead of spending 18 bucks just to get in the theater.. could have bought the damn thing for that price

I thought it was really good..
the worst gripe I've heard with people is that it wasn't funny enough.. and so many people were going into the movie thinking it was going to be a comedy.. and are very dissapointed.
