Okay,
So, I've been thinking of getting my last name tattooed on me (see my post about lower back tattoos). I just want to honor my brother, father, son, uncle, etc.
I've been sufficiently convinced to stay away from the lower back.
Now I'm thinking of getting it vertically down the back of my calf. I'm not interested in what people think of name tattoos or what have you...I just want to know if this font/lettering is feasible for a tattoo. I just like how it uses a lot of negative space.
And please, don't say anything about my last name. It's a good last name Henry Winkler is one of the coolest people of all time. |

I'd have definitely avoided Winkler on my lower back.
....
See what I mean? |

A lot of people here are going to have their own opinions on getting your last name tattooed on yourself in the first place. I personally don't have a problem with it (I have mine on me too...whatev).
That font would be possible to tattoo...I don't see any problems there. But, I wouldn't suggest it. It's kinda...boring. But, to each his own. _________________ "Be sincere; be brief; be seated" - FDR |

it's feasible but i wouldn't recommend it....but that's just me....nothing wrong with getting your last name tattooed, tho some would beg to differ....i'd go with a different font tho....the one you've chosen seems kinda boring...oops sorry, i'm just repeating what rookie said....but he's right....it IS boring....there are so many other fonts you can choose from....google is your friend.... _________________ life is short...don't waste it |

Cool. I respect everyone's opinions
I will look around for some other fonts...
I know there are thousands and thousands of them out there. Anyone have a suggestion of a particularly cool one? I just kind of like the look with the negative space...where it sort of looks like it's been stamped on there. That's just me though.
EDIT:
Something I totally forgot to say -- I'm a person who likes plain things, especially when it comes to decorating myself -- as silly as that may sound. You should see my wedding ring. Plain dark titanium. I like just wearing plain black T-shirts.
I was originally thinking of just using Arial as a font for a tattoo.
Oh well, I said it in another thread but I'll say it here too, it helps to know yourself! Right? |

I actually dig that font, and, if done correctly, it could have a nice "raising from under the skin" effect that would look nice. _________________ Just a small guy trying to get by... |

I'm actually a fan as well. It's 1000000000000000x better than Old English. _________________

I don't mind the font you selected, but if you ask me I think a plain arial font would be dope. Obviously it would be boring to just have one word written in arial, but i really think you could work with it. Maybe scattered lettering, or broken. idk, but when i read that you were thinking about Arial, I had that quick "oh shit, that could be a good idea" feeling.
I love uniqueness, and meaning thats what I feel is the most important part of tat selection and designing. and you said you like plain and simple. So think about it. |

Hmm...It can be hard to tell over the internet, but I guess you guys are trying to be funny? Since you guys didn't have the cojones to actually put your last names out there for us to evaluate, I'll just assume they are "Gay" and "Fagot"

That is correct, he is a famous French fashion designer named Yorvo Fagot --- perhaps you've seen Paris Hilton and Angelina Jolie in some of his unique masterpiece designs... |

Winkler. Suspiciously rhymes with sprinkler doesn't it. I highly suggest a garden hose incorporated somewhere for pizazz.
