Do you mind sharing the rate? You can PM me if you're comfortable with that. The reason I ask is because I was thinking of going out to that area to get some more work. Just need to know what the top guys are charging out there. |
The going rate at that shop is $150 for everybody except the owner Aaron Della Vedova and he has a few conditions. Nothing less than a full sleeve/leg or full back and is typically booked about 14 months. He is $200/hour. Aaron, Paul and Nate are all very good at japanese. Paul and Nate being very traditional. http://www.gurutattoo.com/?section=artists
My artist Nate is booked about 3-4 months since coming here from AnalogTattoo in the bay area. He will get harder to get the more people know here's back in town now.
Fip Bucannon is also here in town at AvalonTattoo2 and is $175 and typically booked 4-6 months last I checked. Terry Ribera is crazy good too out of the same shop. http://www.avalontattoo.com/fip.htm
Craig Driscoll is also out here. great artist, great style. Last I checked $175/hour. http://craigdriscoll.com/portfolio.html
For the most part average $150 is a top artist price with a couple exceptions. There are some wicked good artists here, but you're gonna wait if you want them.

I'm stopping right there at a 1/2 sleeve. I would love to do a full sleeve except that I work construction and I'm in the sun constantly. I see lots of guys with tattoos below the elbow and they all look terrible from the sun. It'd be a shame to let good work crap out do to too much sun exposure.
I will however do the other side in a 1/2 sleeve. |

| We have a few guys who work construction. The ones who won't cover up get black and gray. But a few of them wear long sleeve t-shirts and are religious with sunblock. It's a matter of how bad you want it. |

That's slick as hell man...you gotta post up once it's finished. I might've missed it in the other posts but is there going to be any additional work further down your arm?
Either way, it looks great...congrats on the ink!
On a further note..can somebody fill me in on whats up with this cat Fire Thief? Just kinda the resident tool? |

I was going to make a reasonably obvious joke, using the idea of "scratching" as a synonym for both unprofessional tattooing and the record mixing technique that DJs for rap artists use but, eh, just not worth my time. _________________ Just a small guy trying to get by... |
