How big are you going to get it? Maybe instead of having the triangle in the heart have to sparrows or something holding onto the triangle placing it in the heart? Or have a big ass chain holding them togther with a big padlock too? haha, I have no idea what I’m talking about…

There is a hellofalot you can do with that. My suggestion is to look around for good artists in your area that specialise in original work. find a style that you like and go with it. It can be as simple or as complex as you want it really. It can be pretty, or it can symbolise more painful feelings. Think about the feelings you have about the whole thing and then think about possible symbols that incorporate those feelings. Take those ideas to the artist you want to use.

Here's a quick conceptual sketch giving you an example of how this symbol can be changed. There are many possibilities.

Thanks for all the feedback and thanks to Yorvo for the sketch. I like that design quite a bit, may be on track with what I'm looking for although I won't completely replicate it. Any additional feedback on one or multiple colors or black/gray? I am still wondering if adding a black/gray rose or two would fit or be necessary or not. I think Yorvo successfully de-feminized (?) the original design and I wouldn't want to put it back. Thanks again.

That's me, they call me the de-feminizer. You do what you want with it. If you did black and gray you could play with textures instead of color to distinguish between the two shapes. How big are planning on getting this? That would decide if you need more elements.

I'm planning on putting it on my chest, probably around 4" high and wide. The more I think about it I've probably asked enough questions and have got a lot of help with the design, which I greatly appreciate. You are right, I can do what I want with it and at least now I have a much better starting point to go from. I can't expect others to make too many decisions for me or it just won't seem personal. I'll probably stick with black and gray and for now I think I probably won't add other elements which may detract from the main design. Maybe something subtle in the background but not too overpowering. Further suggestions and opinions are welcome but I realize I have to come up with some ideas on my own, too, and with the help of the artist. Thanks.
