A new series on HBO from Alan Ball -- the creator of Six Feet Under and the writer of American Beauty. I caught the first two episodes so far (actually watching episode 2 right now). Has anyone else seen it? _________________ "The creation of mankind was the act of an egomaniac, plain and simple"

I've watched them. The jury is still out on this one. Gonna have to watch a few more episodes. |

Yeah, the first two episodes were slow. I like the concept, but the story better start going somewhere soon. _________________ "The creation of mankind was the act of an egomaniac, plain and simple"

Caught it last night on HBO on Demand. Interesting premise but then again I'm a sucker for vampires. I'm looking forward to the next episode.
Seems like Sookie is about to be introduced to some of Bill's friends. _________________ Lt. Dan: Have you found Jesus yet, Gump?

So far looks like its gonna be a "she saves, he saves" storyline. Hope it gets better. |

Heard it's based off a series of books. Gonna check it out at Barnes and Noble. I'm a sucker for books. _________________ Lt. Dan: Have you found Jesus yet, Gump?

I was considering checking out the books as well. If you do, let me know what you think. I often find myself looking at the source material. That's how I discovered the Dresden Files novels, which were infinitely better than the series on the Sci-Fi channel. _________________ "The creation of mankind was the act of an egomaniac, plain and simple"

Just went to Barnes and Nobles. They didn't have the first book on stock but they had ordered a bunch that should be coming in tomorrow or Friday.
What a shame. Was really looking forward to reading it tonight. Guess I'll have to wait till the weekend. _________________ Lt. Dan: Have you found Jesus yet, Gump?

Called them today and they still haven't gotten the shipment in. I'm really itching to read the first book.
Speaking of True Blood, one of the women my mother works with watched the first two episodes of True Blood. Apparently according to her it's too gorey.
I don't think it is at all. Yeah there's blood and all that. However, compared to some movies, True Blood rates low on the gore factor. _________________ Lt. Dan: Have you found Jesus yet, Gump?

I'm kind of disappointed by the lack of gore. _________________ "The creation of mankind was the act of an egomaniac, plain and simple"

Picked up the first book last night at Borders since Barnes and Noble didn't have it. I read it in about 4 hours only putting it down to watch True Blood. It's definitely a love story-murder mystery all rolled into one. I'd reccomend it. I'm off to read the second book. _________________ Lt. Dan: Have you found Jesus yet, Gump?

| Hope the books are better than the show. So far I'm not impressed. I'm hoping its just a slow starter. |

I beginning to think the show is an excuse to show Anna Paquin in tight shorts and skimpy sundresses. Not that there's anything wrong with that. _________________ "The creation of mankind was the act of an egomaniac, plain and simple"
