I am getting my first tattoo in the next few days; it will be a large word (about 5 inches long) in hebrew with the remainder of the biblical verse in smaller writing underneath.

Ideally I would like it on my deltoid (the muscle right on the shoulder, over the biceps and triceps), perpendicular to my arm, but the artists recommended against words on the arm as I do weight lift regularly and have gotten bigger, and plan to continue getting a bit bigger.

I have done a good deal of research and most evidence seems to suggest that weight lifting has little ill effect on tattoos, but I decided to ask the specific question regarding words on the deltoid vis-a-vis weight training.

I'd appreciate any help the community can give!

As far as I know, as long as that part of your body isn't doubling in size or so, it should be fine.
