I have a koi/maple leaf half sleeve currently. Im looking to complete the lower portion of my sleeve in the near future. Im currently looking at themes that will compliment the completion of my koi sleeve. Any help is appreciated.

Seriously, post a picture. It will help. How about another koi? Or an octopus chasing the koi?

A guy holding a club.
A stick of dynimite about to go off
A guy fishing
More koi, A frog, waves, maple leaves, Purple maple leaves, cherry blossoms, Fragmentation grenades, a hanya mask, ninja, turtle,
Lot of options out there, all seem to fit in

why do people get koi? it relates to japanese art but why do they relate to most people who get a fish permanently attached to their arm?

They do look awesome as tattoos. Almost all trad. japanese art translates to tattoo form amazingly. Also they represent courage, perseverance, and transformation and people like to get that kind of stuff inked. I think they're great and i get the appeal, but good god they are so overdone! there are way too many koi tattoos if you ask me :P

theres alot of things that would look cool as a tattoo but i don't find that a very good reason to get one. i agree with fork in that they are way to overdone.

I agree. I absolutely love them, but I won't get one because they are everywhere.
