Hi every one. I finally got my first tattoo a day ago. I found out that lots of direct water would not be good on my ink. I'm taking my kids to a water park tommorow and wondered if I put a layer of vasaline over my tattoo would it be suicide to my ink? The last thing I want to do is ruin it. Thanks for any insight.

Soaking a 2 day old tattoo is NOT good. You should wait till at least it finishes flaking.
4-5 days minimum. 10+ days is prefered.
Getting it wet isn't a problem; it's soaking it.
That and direct sun light without 30+SPF sun block

Oh yeah, you want to keep it dry and out of the sun. I have heard of many people having very bad reactions from letting a fresh tattoo get a lot of sun. Red in particular can turn into a nasty rash and cause your tattoo to heal badly. I would think chlorine would also be terrible for it.
